High on You (2015) , Ink and Lion Cafe

Working with black ink on paper, High on You examines the complexity of companionship and the romantic relationship. It explores the feeling of loss once that companionship is gone, the romanticising of its beauty in hindsight, and the bitter sweet emotions that are inexplicably human. Orn frames her emotions in these ink drawings through the simplicity of spontaneous black lines on white paper, the lines at once naive at once knowing; objects and phrases that evoke our own memories. Placed together in a series, High on You touches on feelings and experiences that we recognise.
